£99 a Month, Modelled Against a Three-Month Trial

A reference price, not a benefit. The UK referral reward is still Supercharging miles — but the subscription price sets what a trial would be worth if one ever landed here.
On 22 May 2026 the one-time Full Self-Driving purchase was withdrawn across Europe and the UK, leaving a £99 monthly subscription. The UK referral reward did not change — it is still 650 Supercharging miles — but the price gives us a number to model with.
The model
Trial value = months × monthly rate. Three months at £99 is £297 of displaced subscription, before any tax treatment. That is the figure a UK referral trial would carry if the UK reward were ever restructured the way North America's was on 14 February 2026.
How it compares with what UK buyers actually get

Assumes 3.5 mi/kWh, rates checked 2026-07-13. On these inputs a trial would be worth roughly 3.9× the current UK mileage reward at the member rate — which is why the reward's shape matters more than its headline.
The two caveats that make the comparison unfair
First, a trial is only worth £297 to someone who would otherwise have subscribed; a mileage reward is worth something to everyone who charges. Second, a trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled, so its net value depends on the holder remembering a date — a mileage reward simply runs out.
Why the UK reward has not changed shape
Approval, not pricing, is the gate. North America's referral benefit is an FSD trial because supervised driving is deployed there. Europe and the UK moved to subscription pricing while keeping charging-distance rewards, and the mainland's own approval timetable slipped — an EU-level discussion at the end of June 2026 was discussion-only, with the next window in October 2026.
The diagnostic worth keeping
A UK-facing referral page promising free FSD has copied North American material without noticing the market. That single test discounts a large share of inaccurate UK referral content, and it is more reliable than judging a page by its production values.
What a trial would change about the modelling
The shape of the risk, not just the size of the number. A mileage reward is spent or wasted; a subscription trial is spent, wasted, or silently converted into a recurring charge if nobody cancels it. That third outcome is why North American referral advice is dominated by diary-keeping while UK advice is dominated by route-planning. If the UK reward ever changes shape, this site's calculators would need a renewal-date field rather than a tariff field — which is a good summary of how different the two rewards are underneath a shared programme name.
