Tesla VoltBench exists to give British Tesla buyers two things most sites get wrong: accurate, sourced calculators and a fair, verified referral code — with the UK facts right (Supercharging miles, not the US "free FSD").

Sam Whitfield — UK EV writer & Tesla owner. Articles and calculator methodology on this site are written and reviewed by a named author so you know who stands behind the figures.

How we keep figures honest

• Every calculator constant is editable and stamped with the date we checked it (2026-07-13).
• We cite primary sources — Tesla UK, Ofgem, GOV.UK/HMRC — and re-verify before each update.
• We never invent a rate, price or reward. If a figure isn't confirmable, we say so rather than guess. See our Methodology.

How a figure gets onto this site

Credentials matter less than method, and method is checkable. Every number here goes through the same four steps, and where a step fails we publish the failure rather than the number.

1. Find the body that sets it. Tax rates and thresholds come from GOV.UK, grant terms from the scheme's own page, referral terms from Tesla's. Not from another comparison site — which is how stale figures propagate across this whole niche.
2. Date it. Every figure carries a check date. A rate without a date is unusable, because this is a field where several key numbers changed inside a single year.
3. Make it editable where it's yours, not ours. Electricity rates, mileage, tax band and install quotes are specific to you. Hard-coding them would produce a confident answer to the wrong question, so the calculators take them as inputs with example defaults.
4. Say so when we can't confirm it. Where a figure is reported but not verifiable at primary source, we mark it as reported and show the range rather than choosing the most attractive value.

What this site is not

• Not affiliated with Tesla. Independent, not endorsed by or operated by Tesla, Inc. "Tesla", "Model 3" and "Model Y" are trademarks of Tesla, Inc., used here descriptively.
• Not financial, tax or legal advice. The calculators model published mechanics. Where a decision turns on your own tax position, scheme terms or property, confirm it with the relevant body or a professional.
• Not a coupon site. There is no discount code for a Tesla car. The referral benefit is real and is a different mechanism — a link opened before configuring, not a code typed at checkout.

How to hold this site to account

Three specific things you can check, rather than a general promise of accuracy:

• Is every figure dated? If you find one that isn't, that's a defect and worth telling us about.
• Does the source link go to the body that sets the figure — or to another blog? The first is a source; the second is a rumour with a citation.
• Does the referral get ranked honestly? On the charging pages we say a cheap home tariff matters more; on salary sacrifice that the tax mechanics dwarf it; on the model comparison that it's identical on both cars. A site funded by referrals saying the referral is the small number is the test.

Corrections are the most useful message you can send. A figure that has gone stale gets updated and re-dated rather than quietly edited — and if you find one, you have found something real, because published rates in this field move faster than most pages covering them.
