A referral code doesn't change how long a Tesla takes to build. It changes exactly one thing: whether 650 free Supercharging miles land on your new Model 3 or Model Y's account when it's handed over. Get the timing wrong and you lose that for free — this is where it sits in the process, stage by stage, checked against Tesla UK's own terms.
The four stages, and where the code slots in
Every UK order runs through the same four stages, whether or not a referral is attached. The code only ever matters at the first one.

For a new Model 3 or Model Y, Tesla UK's referral programme currently applies 650 free Supercharging miles to the new car's own account — not a discount off the purchase price. One correction worth making loudly, because so many aggregator sites get it wrong for UK buyers: a UK referral is not "three months of free Full Self-Driving." Grants that run on a separate clock
